MORE ABOUT JENN

FAMILY
My husband and I are proud parents of two boys. Being a #boymom means that there is never a dull moment and I know more about Star Wars, basketball, and Fortnite than I ever imagined.
MY TEACHING JOURNEY
I started teaching in 2002 and spent many years as a Special Education teacher then transitioned to a full-time Reading Specialist in 2011. I was also a one-time kindergarten teacher during COVID and what an adventure that was! With the exception my first year, I have always worked at the elementary school that I attended as a child.
I LOVE TEACHING READING!
I love learning about the Science of Reading and figuring out new ways to implement it with my students.
I love those light bulb moments with students and seeing their confidence grow as they become better readers.
I love making the process of learning to read a positive experience that is as engaging as possible.
READING IN ROOM 11
In 2015 Reading in Room 11 was born. I have always loved creating resources and materials for my reading groups. I realized that through a blog and TPT, I could help other teachers by sharing what I have learned and the resources I have made.
I hope that I am able to share my knowledge and passion for reading with you and provide materials that will make your life easier as a teacher.
